How do I use the Data Export?

Using the Data Export Tab:

The “Data Export” Tab is found in the main menu of your Doba account. This feature enables you to export entire inventory lists at a time.

This is what the Data Export page looks like:

To create a new export, click “Create New Saved Export” at the bottom of the page, (circled in the picture above). A pop-up will come up that looks like this:

The “Name” section is where you will name this export file as it saves to your computer. You are not renaming your inventory list, but simply naming the CSV file that downloads to your computer.

The “Source” is another title for Inventory Lists. If the inventory list you would like to select is not populating the “Source” section, click on the two arrows on the right-hand side of that box. A drop-down menu will appear that will show all of the inventory lists you have created. Select the list you would like to export.

The “Format” section is where you will choose the exporting format of your CSV file. For example, if you were selling in Amazon, you would choose one of the “Amazon” formats.

*If you do not know what format to use for your selling platform, you can always select the format called “Product Comma Delimited” This format will provide you with all the basic information provided by the supplier. Then you can take this information and copy and paste the information into the template provided my your selling platform.

If you are downloading an inventory list for the first time, you will not need to worry about the bottom section of this pop-up; the “Only Changes since” section. If this is your first download, you can ignore this section.

If you want to update inventory from Doba that you already imported into your third-party platform, (i.e. where you are selling product), check the “Only Changes Since” box. You can then use either the “Date” OR “Time Period sections. To use “Date”, check the bubble next to Date, and enter the date of the last export done with the selected Inventory List. This means that any changes that have taken place in Doba in that Inventory list since the selected date will be updated once you re-complete the export.

To use “Time Period”, you can select a number from 1-180, then select either hours or days. For example, if you select “10”, and then “days”, any changes that have taken place in Doba in that Inventory list since the selected time frame will be updated once you re-complete the export.

Once you have filled out all the necessary information in this pop-up, hit the grey “Add” button at the bottom of the pop-up:

The page will refresh, and you will be back on your “Data Export” page. You should now see the export you just created on this page.

To save this file to your computer, click the green “Download” button, (circled in red in the picture above). A yellow pop-up will appear that looks like this:

Somewhere on your page, you should see the file downloading. This will vary depending on which browser you are using. Once that is completed, the file will be saved to your computer! If you have trouble locating it in your downloads, you can also search your files by the “Name” you created for this file.

Using the Data Export Button:

The “Data Export” Button can be located both in the “Catalog” section of your Doba account once you’ve clicked into an item or category, or your “My Inventory” section. It is a purple button with an upward-facing arrow on it. This feature can be used to select one or multiple items to download at a time, instead of an entire inventory list.

To select one or more items from your Inventory or the Catalog, check the small box in the top right-hand corner of the product listing.

Once you have selected the products you would like to export, click the purple “Data Export” button. A pop-up will come up that looks like this:

The “Format” section is where you will choose the exporting format of your CSV file. For example, if you were selling in Amazon, you would choose one of the “Amazon” formats.

*If you do not know what format to use for your selling platform, you can always select the format called “Product Comma Delimited” This format will provide you with all the basic information provided by the supplier. Then you can take this information and copy and paste the information into the template provided by your selling platform.

As the yellow message on this pop-up says, clicking “Save and Download” will create a new inventory list with the items you have selected as well as creating a saved export tied to the new list. Saved exports can be found in the Data Export section.

By clicking “Download Only”, the selected items will be saved only to your computer as a CSV file, but will not be saved as an Inventory list in your Doba account.
